For my Mom...

For my Mom...

It takes courage to admit „defeat“

to realize that this last battle won‘t be won.

That it is time to let go and leave behind those you loved so dearly.

You weren‘t afraid of the end.

You weren‘t afraid of the pain that tortured your battered body.

You weren‘t afraid of death.

Your only worries were for us.

You did not want to see us sad.

You did not want to ,burden‘ us with witnessing your withering strength.

So you held on and fought.

Fought for us... until we told you:

„It‘s okay to go.“ - „It‘s okay to rest.“

You always hid your feelings well and you never were an open book to read,
but beneath the surface
you were one of the most courageous and selfless women I have ever known!

So glad it was you who raised me and who gave me so much love!

So glad I could give you back this love and be with you today
until you took your final breath.

R.I.P

my sweet Muttchen!
