Great weekend....

Really having a great weekend. Even though it's friggin cold, it's also sunny and dry! I can deal with cold weather as long as there's a blue sky and NO SNOW on the road :)

Baby and I braved the icy cold and went on long walks yesterday and today. A walk into town led to a  spontanous shopping trip (a girl can never have too many LBDs right? ... and when have I ever been able to resist a new bag... ;)

To top it all off, I got my favorite flowers  (I looooove tulips.. and to hell with
-7 °C... this says SPRING to me :)))

Later this afternoon a trip to the Day Spa, a nice massage and I'll definitely book this under the "successful weekends" category.

Hope you're all having a great time!

I have a sudden craving for bread... in right now... *head desk*

I won't though. No carbs late at night :)

But doesn't it look yummy...?

Amazing what's possible in CGI these days....

Saw this trailer for a Japanese video game today and I'm stunned about the computer generated images they used here. These are some of the most realistic graphics I've ever seen in a video game... *is completely at awe*

Not that I'm a gamer or so. On the contrary, I'm so NOT into video games, but the graphics here just blew me away ;)

Loup de Mer (Seabass) with Crema di Balsamico

What we had for dinner today...

Why not turn an ordinary Monday into something "special" with a nice dinner, I thought after a quick look through my fridge tonight. I still had four Loup de Mer fillets (seabass) in the freezer and some arugula left from yesterday's lunch. Together with a dash of "Lemon Crema di Balsamico" it was indeed delicous.

And the best is, it took only 15 minutes to cook :)

(Psst... Hubby very much approved of this impromptu dinner surprise :)

ADORABLE little French girl...

(Wish as adults we all could  hold on to this sense of wonder and enthusiasm we possessed as a child)

The Audi Spectacle - New billboard concept for the future

Wow... what an amazing idea!

There's a new "breed" of billboards that could be used in "new-launch-projects" as shown here on the example of a possible Audi spectacle.

The idea is to display four life-size Audi cars, suspended inside the silver rings of a massive Audi symbol attached to an iconic bridge structure or in front of landmark spaces — the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge, Tower Bridge, Venice.

(Not sure though that they'd allow such a construction to be fitted to iconic sites like the Brooklyn Bridge or Tower Bridge etc.) But the idea is very futuristic :)

Went out to get a glass placemat set...ended up with a new dining room :)

This is what I set out to buy when hubby and I strolled down to our favorite interior design shop:

(a glass placemat set)

And we just returned having bought the most perfect dining room table, a mind-blowing lamp that will go over it, a rug and a mirror....

Uhm... yeah... not planned at all, but we fell in love with the table instantly (and that after we've been searching for the perfect table for ages :)

I'll update this blog as soon as the "beauty" will arrive here (to be delivered on Monday :)
Unfortunately the lamp has a delivery time of 3 - 4 weeks *sigh*

And the rug will probably take equally as long. Ah well.... I'll find some things to busy myself until it's complete :)

*is already making list about new design accessoires*

Fake Flames - art project aims to preserve historic buildings in Vancouver

I came across this very interesting art project by Isabelle Hayeur. She uses "fake flames" in an abandoned old town house to draw attention to a district in Vancouver where many old buildings are overlooked by developers and torn down.

It's amazing how realistic this looks.

To learn more about this project go here for the article. There's also a short video clip which will leave you speechless. Like I said, incredibly realistic flames. I wonder how many times the fire department had been called by passers-by.

We so love NY... just not in Winter :)

Idiot With A Tripod from Gothamist on Vimeo.

Goodbye 2010!

You haven't always been easy. There've been tears and worries and obstacles to overcome. In the end, however, all the good things, the love and the friendship I was blessed with, far outweighed any of the sad times.

Hello 2011!

Here you are. A blank sheet of paper so far and I can't wait to see what you have in store for me.
I hope the fun and  the laughter, the happiness and love will carry me through any tough times that may come my way.

You sure started well with the much loved family tradition of our New Year's brunch. Here's to all my family and  friends, hoping you had an equally great start into the New Year.

Happy New Year!

Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference.
They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver.
