Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu

A friend from Australia introduced me to the music of Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu. I was totally blown away by his voice. (vid thanks to YouTube)

He's an aborigini who was born blind. He has never learned Braille, does not have a guide dog or uses a white cane. He speaks only a few words of English. He plays drums, keyboards, guitar (a right hand-strung guitar left-handed) and didgeridoo, but it is the clarity of his singing voice that has attracted rave reviews. He sings stories of his land in both languages (Gälpu, Gumatj or Djambarrpuynu, all Yolŋu Matha) and English. (info from wikipedia.com)
